VIOGNIER |
Until recently Viognier was one of the least planted grape varieties in the world. When grown carefully the variety produces wines of full body and tantalising flavours and aromas. The variety is low yielding and capricious in nature. The Hawkes Ridge Wine Estate Viognier captures all the subtlety and mystery of this little known variety due to careful control of yield and vigour.
HAWKES RIDGE WINE ESTATE 2010 VIOGNIER |
This partially fermented Viognier has aromas of melon and candied orange peel with a hint of caramel. The palate offers ripe stonefruit with a hint of manuka honey.
FOOD MATCH: Spicy Asian food, lighter curries, poultry or anything that would normally compliment a medium to full bodied Chardonnay.
